I stayed here recently on Saturday September 9 and checked out the next day. After checking in around 9pm I went to the assigned room. When I unlocked the door, I discovered it was already occupied. The people in the room—two adults male and female—were startled and I was shocked. I apologized and went straight back to the desk. Massive error number one. Returning to desk, the receptionist had gone somewhere else but I had no way of knowing that—there was no sign saying “back in x minutes.” I went around the corner to the door going to the back room and knocked. No reponse. So I waited 15 minutes for the receptionist to return. She apologized but I said an apology is not sufficient. I just intruded on another guest, which is completely unacceptable. I asked to speak to the manager. She told me she was the only one on duty that night. That is bad practice. Error number two. Next morning at check out I asked to be compensated for their fiasco. New receptionist offered 5% discount, which is an insult, and so I refuse, saying I’ll take it up with corporate when I get home. Error number three. A few days later I call customer service. I tell the rep I expected a full refund due to the seriousness of the incident. First he asked if I’m a member. I said, no and I have zero interest under the circumstances. I ask to be connected with a supervisor. He puts me on hold, comes back and asks me again if I want points, as if he hadn’t just asked me 3 minutes before. I now demand to talk to the supervisor. Puts me on hold again, this time for longer. Then he proceeds to tell me that my complaint “doesn’t qualify for monetary reimbursement.” We go round again about the points and being connected to a supervisor. On hold yet again. This time he says, supervisor said there was no reason to discuss this any further. I should take it up with the local hotel staff. Their customer “service” is atrocious and corporate abrogates all responsibility for their serious mistakes—disgraceful. Error number four. I call the hotel and speak to an assistant manager. This time she offers me a 10% discount. I say no way, I expect full reimbursement for putting me in the position of violating another guest’s privacy. I said that as a hotel, you have a fundamental responsibility to provide for the safety and privacy of all guests and you have failed miserably. She then tells me they have a video of me at the desk just after the incident. Says my body language was a problem and that I was drunk, which I was not. Now the hotel has falsely accused me of intoxication based on what I said to the receptionist. Massive error number five. Needless to say, this is not the end. So if you want to stay at a hotel where there is a possibility that your privacy could be violated, all parties shirk any real responsibility for that violation, and they are willing to slander you in the process, then this is the place for you. Didn't look like a bad place going in. Good location off the highway and ample parking. We waited 10 minutes at check in while desk attendant radioed with housekeeping to check floors to find a clean room. Annoying but not upsetting. The room was clean but one bed was broken so that if you laid on one side it rocked over to that side. We made do. The last straw was at 1:11 am we heard a banging on our door, then a card swipe. The latch caught the door before it opened and we heard more loud knocking. It was a housekeeper, using her key to try to get in. When my daughter got up to see what was going on, she identified herself and said she was looking for her daughter. No apology for waking us or trying to enter our room. We got up for breakfast at 8 and it was completely empty. Not even bread for toast. Waffles in the waffle maker was the only option but both syrup containers were empty and the whole area was scattered with dirty cups. I didn't expect more than the basics but housekeeping made me regret choosing this property.

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations and it seemed as though our room had already been done. Beautiful new lighted mirror in the bathroom, and you could see torn wallpaper around the top, so obviously it was not replaced. I did love the showerhead - so invigorating! Our king suite was very spacious, but there was a noticeable smoke odor in the hallways and our room as well even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. The window in the room was open when we opened the room, so the staff were aware of the smell. Even turning on the heat or the a/c did not get rid of it. Not sure that I would recommend this hotel.

Rooms were clean and my bed didn't have any bugs, which gets 5 stars from me. Walls are a little thin, which is more of a problem with other patrons as opposed to the establishment itself. Not really sure what people have goin on at 4AM that isn't being in a coma. Didn't use the pool but it looked nice. It was on the smaller side, but at the end of the day I'm not going for the pool, so just having it there is a plus. Breakfast was top notch. Huge spread, and any place with a Belgian waffle maker is great. This place had two, big and mini waffles. Plus an automatic pancake maker. Pancakes were lackluster but the machine was cool to watch. The woman behind the counter that checked us in and out literally had a newborn with her and if that's not customer service, I don't really know what is. Would stay again.

Stay at hotels a minimum of 50 nights a year and this one of our worst experiences ever. This is only a summary of the ridiculousness we experienced. Called hotel and made reservation and was a email confirmation directly from hotel. At check-in we were told wouldn’t honor rate reflected in our email with a confirmation number. This is after front desk person called management. After several phone calls and back and forth finally honored rate! How can you give a rate with your email and confirmation and then not honor it. They then charge us 2x and it is a week later and we still haven’t gotten a refund. We have wasted our time calling in multiple times to get this resolved. Manager told us she couldn’t issue refund on a particular day because she was “working from home”. Case in point - how do you manage a hotel working from home! Hotel was dirty, ice machines out of order, an elevator out of order. Never seen anything like it. Do not stay here
